Faceups - an Adventure

So, it's been pretty much a month since I last posted, but things have been a little haywire, and I'll try to explain.
-Deep breath-
Here we go:

Mei is HERE! Finally! This doll. Right there!! Mei is an elf-styled sculpt made by ResinSoul.com and I got her in their Normal Skin color, with the Rong Double Jointed body, without faceup and OHMYGODDESS SHE IS PERFECTION.
I ordered her back in June, with a layaway plan that hinged on the sale of another doll I had (and hated on sight) to another gal, plus a set of clothing specially made for a very big bjd. Anyways, that all went down like pie(so easy) and my final payment to RS was in the end of July!
Well, two weeks go by after Sun(the awesome fellow/lass who answers all my pesky emails and questions in a really timely manner) lets me know they'll tell me when she's been shipped, and I'm worrying my butt off that she got missed somehow, picturing all these horrible things happening and whatnot.
-Ahem- So I caved in, and emailed Sun, who told me so nicely that they were shipping my new darling that FRIDAY!! I freaked out I was so happy. Hahaha.
Then I got her in the mail the Thursday afterwards, just a day before I was going away for a vacation with my family.....and had run out of MSC, AND Testors Dullcote.
Cue a mini-freak-out session on that day.
But, the vacation went great, I saw family I hadn't seen in over 10 years and tried some fishing(didn't catch anything) and yeah, that was awesome.
We go home last Monday, and....I pretty much have been running around like a lunatic ever since. Getting the house cleaned up, helping family get ready for school(mom in college), and our house is still a bit of a disaster but it's not horrible. I DID managed to finish her faceup though, and she is GORGEOUS!
For her faceup I used chalk pastels, acrylic paint, mineral pigments(copper-gold loose powder) and watercolor pencils. It was a bit rushed, so her eyebrows could be re-done the next time I do her faceup, but I believe she looks amazing. Even without eyeballs at this point.
Last week, I also painted her nails on her hands and feet, and basic-blushed her body, so
NUDITY ALERT!

For her body, since she's originally a super-pale pink tone, I used some pinks and two beige's for contouring and highlights on her chest, belly, back and bottom. I left her arms and legs alone since I just know they'll get chipped off sooner rather than later. Her hands and feet are blushed and since the weather is starting to turn cooler, she's gonna be wearing longer sleeves and whatnot sooner enough.
Everything was triple-sealed before I started any of the faceup or body blushing, so she's very matte, though some of her eye glitter is showing through.

Here's a somewhat decent photo of her faceup. I added few freckles because I think her upper lip may be a bit oddly shaped, so I wanted to distract from it a little bit. I think I may be over thinking it a little bit though, and it's not a horrible dis-figuration or anything, I just have to be aware of it whenever I do her faceup now.
I'm still in love with RS. Seriously, that company is amazing. XD
Anyways, this is her without eyes, and I have since given her lips some shiny gloss, and the rims of her eye holes as well to give a bit of a wet look, since eyes generally tend to be wet.....even eyeliner.
Yesterday, I started to make her a make-shift wig from some synthetic fibres I bought back in April, and I don't have any alpaca fibre yet. That, by the way, is going well so far, I'm just waiting on a response from the farm I want to buy from about buying a few ounces for a try-out.

Here she is, looking like that girl from that one movie about the finger jewelry....(-coughTheRingcough-) and I'm trying so hard to not laugh my butt off when my dog takes one look at her then tries to eat her. I'm so ashamed I didn't get a picture of it, but give me some credit, I was tryin' to rescue my new girl!
So here we were, and it took me around 6 hours in total to make, from the wig cap and glue mix to sewing the wig, to melting it tiny bit at the top to make it smooth.
And today, I fought with all that silky, silky hair. It did NOT want to do anything but hang straight and make her look like the cousin to cousin It. Then I started on the little dress she needed to wear until I can create her jeans and t-shirt that she loves so much. Again, it argued with me during the creation period, so the outfit she's wearing is classified as a prototype for now.
Now I can introduce you all to Shizuru, one of my OCs I use when I roleplay or write stories.
